Duitex stands for Daehyup Ultimate Insulation Technologies, and it is a type of coating insulation as porous material which is made by mixing aerogel powder and ceramic. It is the ultimate insulation material with excellent effectiveness of heat / fireproof and soundproof.

What is Aerogel ?

    2,000 times their weight.

Aerogels have been in existence for more than 80 years. Invented in 1931 by Dr. Samuel Kistler at the College of the Pacific in California, silica aerogel is a lightweight solid derived from gel in which the liquid component of the gel has been replaced with gas. When the liquid is removed, what remains is “puffed-up sand," with up to 99% porosity. The result is an extremely low density solid with several remarkable properties, most notably its effectiveness as a thermal insulator. Aerogels also have value in emerging applications such as energy storage, filtration and carbon capture.

As aerogel has such diverse chemical and physical properties, it is no surprise that it also has a wide range of applications. Since the 1960’s, aerogel has been used as the insulating material in spacesuits of NASA astronauts as, despite its wispy appearance, it is extremely strong and can survive take off conditions easily.

As such, the application field of Aerogels can be seen as endless. In the field of insulation, the most investment is made for the commercialization. As commercialized products are actually being released and it is highly utilized as thermal insulation / heat insulation and soundproofing material, it is possible to replace existing insulation materials in many fields.
